The Isha Yoga Centre, founded by Sadhguru, lies at the foot of the Velliangiri mountains about an hour’s drive from central Coimbatore. It draws visitors from across India and abroad.

Adiyogi

The Adiyogi statue — a large steel bust depicting Lord Shiva as the first yogi — was unveiled in 2017 and has become one of the most recognisable landmarks of the region. The open grounds around it are especially popular in the evenings.

Dhyanalinga and Linga Bhairavi

The Dhyanalinga is a meditation space housed in a dome, where visitors sit in silence. Nearby is the Linga Bhairavi shrine, dedicated to the Devi. The Velliangiri mountains behind the centre are themselves revered, and a traditional pilgrimage climb to the Velliangiri Andavar shrine takes place in certain months of the year.
